International School Award from British Council

It was indeed a memorable experience for all of us at Assembly of God Church School Sodepur to work as a team in identifying, collecting and presenting the evidence and come up with the ISA dossier. Learning being an active process requires learners work and the application of discussion, practice session, structured exercises, team work and research activity. It was a pleasure to work with the students from Nursery to Twelfth standard and see them bursting forth with their ideas on the nine projects.

The collection process on the projects involved the whole hearted support of our homogeneous and societal colleagues and the bubblingly spirited and enthusiastic students who discussed their work with an international flavour. The teachers were the Team Leaders in the true sense of the word who collected the details from the core sources and distributed the information to the group heads.

The project on the whole was a trip around the world. Our children had a flight on the wings of ISA PROJECT and flew to South Africa, Peru,China,Brazil,Vietnam, France, Italy,Singapore, England, Rome,Jordan, Mexico and Egypt. The nine months of the project included research, collection, debate, quiz, road show, field trip and exhibition which brought out the best from every participating student.

The children ended up learning to work sincerely in groups and be productive so as to achieve the desired goal. The value of team work brought out the shy and introvert from their cocooned shells and made them work independently in an organised manner. The hard work paid when we received the award at a grand award ceremony held at hotel Kempensky New Delhi.
